Jaymyian George Stinson, a 16-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on March 10, 2020, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The incident occurred at an apartment complex on the 600 block of Anson Street. According to reports, someone fired into apartment J-26 from the outside just before 11:30 p.m. Jaymyian was found inside the apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into Jaymyian's death led to the arrest of two individuals. Romonnie Dotson, a 23-year-old male, was charged with murder while already in custody for unrelated charges. Brianna Delph, a 21-year-old female, was also arrested and charged with murder. Both suspects were denied bond. The police believe that this was an isolated incident.
In addition to the criminal investigation, there were questions raised about the security measures at the apartment complex where the shooting occurred. The Murray Law Firm, which has experience in handling security negligence claims, suggested that the complex may have lacked adequate security to protect its residents and visitors. This raised the possibility of legal claims and substantial compensation for Jaymyian's family.
