On July 3, 2024, Nicholas Jones, a 21-year-old resident of Shannon, North Carolina, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident that occurred in Robeson County. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding a shooting on Dixie Drive, outside of Red Springs. Upon arrival, deputies found Jones suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Jones succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
