In the early hours of July 17, 2024, at approximately 1:04 a.m., Chapel Hill Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Ashley Forest Road, near an apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Adam Abdur-Rahman suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to UNC Hospitals, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
