On August 11, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of Caronia Street, located in the Westover Division of Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Aaron Remont Thompson inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by MEDIC.
