On November 5, 2024, at approximately 3:44 a.m., Wilson Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Bragg Street in Wilson, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Alteise Basir "Boosie" Williams, a resident of Lee Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite prompt medical attention, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by Wilson County EMS.
The initial investigation indicated that Williams was the victim of a robbery that escalated into fatal violence. The crime scene was secured, and Bragg Street was temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation. Authorities urged the public to provide any information that could assist in identifying the perpetrator.
The following day, November 6, 2024, Wilson Police arrested 35-year-old Laroderick Marquavious Horne, also of Wilson. Horne was charged with one open count of murder and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with Williams' death. He was taken into custody without bond.
