On February 9, 2024, at approximately 4:24 p.m., Wilson Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at 716 Hines Street West in Wilson, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they found 40-year-old Antonio Jima Turner suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported Turner to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The incident is being investigated as a domestic-related homicide.

Antonio Turner was born on November 6, 1983, in Wilson County, North Carolina. He was educated in the Wilson County Public School System and graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School. After graduating, Turner worked in landscaping and was known for his dedication to his family and friends.
Funeral services for Turner were held on February 22, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home in Wilson. A public visitation took place on February 21, allowing family and friends to pay their respects.
