On January 6, 2023, 57-year-old Scott Blake was fatally shot in the head with a shotgun at his residence on Willard Street Extension in the town of Ellicott, New York. The primary suspect in the case was his 18-year-old stepson, Tucker Richard, who was present at the scene and subsequently arrested. Richard claimed that the shooting was an act of self-defense following a violent altercation with Blake.
