On March 19, 2023, at approximately 7:40 p.m., 74-year-old Charlene F. Cuva was fatally shot in her home at 157 Howe Road in Greenfield Center, New York. The incident occurred when her husband, Joseph R. Cuva Sr., also 74, was reloading his 9mm pistol after cleaning it. The firearm discharged, and the bullet traveled through a wall, striking Charlene in the head and causing her death.
