Death by Force

On June 14, 2012, Shantel Davis, a 23-year-old African-American woman, was fatally shot by New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer Phil Atkins. The incident occurred in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. Davis was driving a stolen Toyota Camry and had run several red lights before crashing into a minivan.
