Mendy P. Gashier, a 24-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on February 23, 2014, in New York City. She was found with gunshot wounds in her torso and a cut on her face in the hallway of the Saint Nicholas Houses complex at 240 West 129th Street in Harlem. Despite being rushed to Harlem Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
