Valeria Ortega, a 64-year-old resident of New York City, tragically lost her life on December 26, 2022. She was shot and killed while walking to a supermarket in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan. The incident occurred in broad daylight near the intersection of Dyckman Street and Vermilyea Avenue. Ortega was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a shooting.
