In the early morning hours of an April day in Utica, New York, violence shattered the quiet of a residence on Warren Street. Inside, 49-year-old James Jackson was shot, his life brought to an abrupt and tragic end. When police officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:15 a.m., they found Jackson unresponsive.
