On a summer evening in Utica, New York, the life of 56-year-old Gary McCorkle was tragically cut short. On July 3, 2021, McCorkle was shot and killed at a residence on Rutger Street. The incident was one of two homicides that occurred in the city over the holiday weekend, leaving the community shaken. McCorkle, a male resident of Utica and Rome, was pronounced dead at the scene.
