On January 2, 2023, at approximately 10:35 p.m., 25-year-old William Morris was fatally shot on the 1200 block of Seymour Avenue in Utica, New York. Officers in the vicinity, responding to unrelated matters, heard multiple gunshots and promptly arrived at the scene, discovering Morris with a gunshot wound to the head and another male victim with an abdominal gunshot wound.
