On April 15, 2023, 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was fatally shot in Hebron, New York, after the vehicle she was in mistakenly turned into the driveway of Kevin D. Monahan. Gillis and her friends were searching for a friend's house when they inadvertently entered Monahan's rural property. Realizing the mistake, they began to back out of the driveway.
