On a cold January night in Albany, New York, the life of 32-year-old Shanita Thomas was tragically cut short. On January 30, 2021, the mother of two, with a third child on the way, was at a gathering on Central Avenue when gunfire erupted. Thomas, an aspiring nurse known for her bright smile and joyful spirit, was struck and killed. The shooting, which took place at a party, also left four other people wounded.
