Nellie M. Farmer, an 85-year-old white woman, was tragically murdered on April 14, 1970, in her room at the Wellington Hotel in Albany, New York. Her partially clothed body was discovered on the floor next to her bed, with a long piece of fabric near her neck. She had been raped, and her cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation due to manual strangulation.
