In the evening hours of a Friday in Saint Louis, Missouri, a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leaving a man fatally wounded. The incident unfolded on February 21, 2020, in the Mark Twain neighborhood, a community suddenly thrust into the heart of a homicide investigation. Just after 9 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Thekla Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
