Marion Brewer, a 62-year-old woman, was found strangled in her room at the Hampton Hotel in Albany, New York, on February 12, 1970. She had been raped, and visible marks were found on her throat. Her pocketbook was discovered open near her head, with no money inside. Two months later, another elderly woman, Nellie M.
