Sky Lemmons-Dixon, a 23-year-old mixed-race woman, was found with a gunshot wound to her head in her State Street apartment in Albany, New York, on Christmas morning 2023. She was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital where she died from her injuries on January 1, 2024. Her life in the year leading up to her death was tumultuous; she had been the victim of severe domestic abuse and was a key witness against her ex-boyfriend, Houston Ketter III.
