On June 21, 2023, 41-year-old Kevin Travis was fatally shot in his apartment at 470 Lyell Avenue in Rochester, New York. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Police responding to reports of a shooting found Travis in the second-floor hallway of the boarding house, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man in his 40s was also shot during the incident; he was found outside on Lyell Avenue with a gunshot wound to the torso and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for surgery.
