Death by Force

On July 16, 2023, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Rochester police officers near the intersection of North and Weld Streets responded to gunfire near the S & T Lounge. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Ervin Wiggins lying in the middle of North Street, pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, 45-year-old Porter Mizell, was found in a nearby parking lot and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
