On a warm summer night in Staten Island, New York, a 37-year-old man named Rashiem Flanders tragically lost his life in a selfless act of peacemaking. In the early morning hours of July 29, 2023, Flanders was near Clinton Avenue when he witnessed an altercation between two women. True to his character as someone who would always try to help, he stepped in to break up the fight.
