On December 3, 2023, at approximately 6:09 p.m., 30-year-old Harlem resident Jazeke Samuels was fatally shot inside Legend's Exotic Candy Shop, located at 300 West 142nd Street in New York City. Samuels, who was working behind the counter at the time, sustained gunshot wounds to his torso and left arm. Emergency responders transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, where he was pronounced dead.
