On January 31, 2024, 23-year-old Brooklyn resident Kereem C. Morgan was fatally shot while returning home from a vigil held for his friend, Brandon Nichols, who had been killed the previous night.
The shooting occurred around 6:19 PM at the intersection of Union Street and Utica Avenue in the Crown Heights neighborhood.
