In the summer of 2015, a young Black / African American man, Stashun Thomas, aged 22, tragically lost his life to gun violence in Brooklyn, New York. On the evening of July 17th, Thomas was on Blake Avenue in East New York when he was shot in the chest. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
