On August 16, 2024, Corey M. Johnson, a 25-year-old man from Buffalo, New York, was fatally shot in Jamestown. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. in a parking lot behind 309 North Main Street, near the Wine Cellar establishment. Johnson was discovered with life-threatening injuries and was initially transported to UPMC Chautauqua before being transferred to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
