On September 10, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., 68-year-old Doug Howie was fatally shot near the intersection of Newland and Forest Avenues in Jamestown, New York. Emergency responders, including the Jamestown Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance Service, arrived promptly at the scene. Howie was initially treated at UPMC Chautauqua before being airlifted to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he succumbed to his injuries.
