In the early hours of Thanksgiving Day 2016, a celebration at a Jamestown, New York, residence took a tragic turn, ending the life of Allan B. Burnett Jr. A 26-year-old male from Buffalo, he was known to friends and family by the nicknames 'Bruno,' 'YB,' and 'Bruce.' Having graduated from Riverside High School, he later earned a certification as an electrician through the Job Corps program.
On November 24, 2016, Burnett was at a gathering at a home located at 129 S. Main St.
Shortly after 4 a.m., an altercation broke out inside the residence and spilled out into the street. The dispute escalated dramatically when gunfire erupted, striking three individuals. When police arrived at the scene, they found that Burnett had been fatally wounded. Two other people were also injured in the shooting and were subsequently hospitalized.
The Jamestown Police Department launched a homicide investigation in the wake of the shooting. Investigators believe that numerous people who were present at the party witnessed the incident but fled the scene after the shots were fired.
