Born on February 5, 2001, to parents Paula Garcia and Anthony Whitelaw, Garcia was a local resident who had attended North Kansas City High School. He was known among his friends and family for his comedic nature and ability to make others smile, often described as the 'life of the party.'
Aside from his reputation as a jokester, he was a father to three children—Llynn, Riley, and Izayah—and cherished the time he spent with his family.
The tragic events unfolded just before 10:00 p.m. in the Independence Plaza neighborhood. Kansas City police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Prospect Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the scene, first responders discovered Garcia suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate provision of emergency medical treatment by personnel at the location, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
