On May 1, 2023, Cheryl Washington, 60, was found deceased in her residence in the 2700 block of Rottingdean Drive in St. Louis County, Missouri. Responding to a welfare check, officers discovered both Washington and 61-year-old Dana Haney with fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators concluded that Haney shot Washington before taking his own life. The two had been in a romantic relationship, though it was unclear if they were still together at the time of the incident.
