On June 5, 2023, 24-year-old DeMarkus Pleasant was fatally shot in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Paseo Fast Stop, located in the 4500 block of Paseo Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found Pleasant suffering from gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
