On December 24, 2023, at approximately 12:00 a.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to reports of a shooting near the River Market District, specifically around 1st and Holmes streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered 55-year-old Elvis Danner in a wooded area near a homeless encampment, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene.
