On June 15, 2023, at approximately 11:23 p.m., Springfield police responded to reports of gunshots at 3417 S. Virginia Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Jason Walker suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
