On a winter afternoon in Springfield, Missouri, a grim discovery was made on the grounds of the National Cemetery on East Seminole Street. On January 31, 2022, police responded to a 911 call and found the bodies of two men, both of whom had sustained gunshot wounds. The deceased were identified as 38-year-old Mark D. Young, a male resident of Springfield, and 46-year-old Justin S. Baker, also from Springfield. It was later revealed that the two men were acquainted and had been living together.
