Charles J. Cortez, a 21-year-old from Springfield, MO, was found dead on October 6, 2014, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of North Weller Avenue, where Cortez was discovered lying in the street. According to police, the shooting took place inside a vehicle, and Cortez was subsequently dumped at the location.
