On June 21, 2024, at approximately 11:37 a.m., Springfield police responded to a reported shooting at a residence located at 2832 East Linwood Street. Upon arrival, officers found 16-year-old Davondre "DJ" Thompson-Baugher suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, Thompson-Baugher succumbed to his injuries on June 23, 2024.
