Martell Edwards, a 23-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on April 28, 2006, in Harvey, Illinois. His death was the result of a shooting incident involving a .45-caliber Remington semiautomatic handgun. The weapon used in the crime had been confiscated by Harvey police in October 2005 from Anthony Reynolds, who was arrested for pointing it at two police officers. However, the gun was returned to Reynolds' stepfather after a meeting with Harvey officials.
