On June 22, 2023, 21-year-old Levi Henning was fatally shot outside his residence in St. Louis' West End neighborhood. Henning was en route to a court hearing concerning a 2018 robbery charge, which was dismissed in his absence. His attorney, David Mueller, expressed shock at Henning's failure to appear, only to later learn of his client's death.
Prior to his death, Henning had been charged with the April 2020 murder of 18-year-old Carieal Doss. These charges were dropped in March 2023
