On the night of July 19, 2023, authorities were called to a parking lot in the 7100 block of Lexington Avenue in Velda City, a municipality in St. Louis County, Missouri. Around 10:40 p.m., officers arrived at the scene to investigate reports of a shooting. There, they discovered a 46-year-old male, Romao Harris, suffering from a gunshot wound. Harris was a resident of the area and lived on the same block where the attack took place.
