Stephon Averyhart, a 27-year-old mechanic from Saint Louis, Missouri, died on February 12, 2014, after being shot by two officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident began when Averyhart fled a traffic stop, leading police on a brief chase. His car, a blue 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, crashed into a telephone pole.
