On the evening of October 29, 2023, 23-year-old Adonis Laurence Knight and his older brother were fatally shot during a domestic disturbance at a residence in Independence, Missouri. Officers from the Independence Police Department were dispatched to the home in the 21100 block of East 50th Terrace Drive South around 8:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from the victims' mother, who reported that her husband had shot her two sons.
