On June 1, 2020, Juan Hernandez, aged 40, was tragically shot and killed at a CVS store on 23rd Street in Independence, Missouri. The incident occurred in the store's entryway, where Hernandez was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation quickly identified Edwin A. Sagastume-Sosa, a 23-year-old from Kansas City, as the primary suspect in the case.
