Teddis A. Burns-El, a 50-year-old resident of Independence, Missouri, passed away on December 28, 2017, at Centerpoint Medical Center. The circumstances surrounding his death were tragic and involved a violent altercation that led to his fatal shooting. According to reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at a residence on Osage Street in Independence. Police were called to the scene around 3 a.m. following a disturbance report.
