On November 25, 2023, 52-year-old Victor Fooks, the manager of the InTown Suites Extended Stay Hotel in Hazelwood, Missouri, was fatally shot in the hotel's back parking lot. The incident occurred as Fooks attempted to ensure that two individuals, previously asked to leave due to an earlier altercation, were departing the premises.
