On the evening of September 28, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Hazelwood, Missouri, involving a dispute during a child custody exchange. The victim, identified as 27-year-old male Shawn Lamont Freeman, had accompanied his sister to a residence on Ville Angela Lane to help her pick up her children.
