On December 8, 2023, 20-year-old Savannah Rae Stipek was fatally shot during a gunfight near Independence Avenue and Cleveland Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Police responded to the scene just before 9:30 p.m., where they found Stipek and a man with gunshot wounds. Stipek was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A third individual later arrived at a nearby fire station, also suffering from gunshot injuries related to the same incident.
