On June 25, 2023, 28-year-old certified nursing assistant and makeup artist, Jasity J. Strong, was tragically killed in a mass shooting in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. near 57th Street and Prospect Avenue, at an auto repair shop known to host after-hours gatherings. The shooting claimed the lives of Strong and two others, 22-year-old Nikko Manning and 29-year-old Camden Brown, while injuring six additional individuals.
