On the early morning of June 30, 2018, police in Kansas City, Missouri, were dispatched to the intersection of 9th Street and Chestnut Avenue following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered a chaotic scene involving two victims. A male victim was found in the street, conscious but suffering from severe injuries, having been beaten with a brick and shot.
