In Springfield, Missouri, on the evening of January 20, 2024, the life of 34-year-old Dustin Laine Pruitt was cut short in what would become the city's first homicide investigation of the year. At approximately 8:59 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting at a residence located at 930 N. Rogers Avenue.
